TubB Canyon Desert Conservancy
Objectives
Tubb Canyon Desert Conservancy (TCDC) was established to preserve habitat and biodiversity, protect native plants and wildlife, and conserve scenic vistas and historic sites in the vicinity of Tubb Canyon and the larger Anza-Borrego Sonoran Desert in southeastern California.
TCDC's objectives are to:
- Conserve remaining natural desert and scenic vistas
- Protect biodiversity, habitat and watersheds, including
- native plant communities
- desert wildlife
- desert riparian arroyos, streams and springs
- foothills, canyons, sand dunes, badlands and bajadas
- native plant communities
- Restore native flora by eradication of invasive, foreign weed species that threaten annual wildflowers, perennial shrubs and cacti
- Preserve historic pioneer and Native American cultural sites and artifacts.
- Promote an appreciation and understanding of the natural and human history of the Anza-Borrego Desert in southeastern California with particular focus on Tubb Canyon and the vicinity of Borrego Valley
